CDCSIT (jointly with High Level Commission for Information Technology Nepaland Nepal Information Technology Center; in collaboration with Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, University Grants Commission Nepal, Nepal Telecom Authority and Nepal Telecom) organized International Conference on Electronic Commerce in the 21st Century (ECIC-2008) (special focus on: Education, Infrastructure, Security and Governance) during 2-4 June 2008, in Kathmandu.

The main objective of the conference was to provide a forum for researchers, academicians, engineers and entrepreneurs interested in E-commerce to get together to share and discuss E-related research, technical, curricular, business, legal and ethical topics and concerns. The conference also provided an appropriate forum to international participants to meet Nepalese IT specialists, entrepreneurs and Industry to discuss and explore opportunities towards future collaborations for mutual benefit.
